Um...stylistically the Clash grew beyond punk so fast that you could probably argue that it's not merely 'punk.' But the Clash defined punk and made it more than a stylistic movement, so in a way, all of their musical projects are at least a little punk, especially if you take into context what they were saying through their music; Sandinista was a big middle finger in the face of their record label. How punk is that???
