The F16 and F18 are equal in performance as far as the armed forces are concerned. When they were both chosen to be their respective services fighters, the air force chose the F16 and the navy chose the F18 and beefed it up for carrier use. There was no true winner between the two in ability. The navy chose the F18 because it had two engines and would be safer to fly over water in case of a flameout. It all comes down to you're own preference. I have seen both in person and love both.

Technically it depends on the altitude and air temperature. But 751 mph is the universally recognized standard for the sound barrier at sea level.

the blue angels are just as good as the thunderbirds i just like them more and the f-18 is faster and more agile than the f-16 id say there equally awesome and its easier to tel once u have seen one team and then the other right after it

it depends on what altitude your are at. it is 750 at Sea level. But how many people do you know fly 0 ft above the ground?

Just saw them sunday at the New England Air Show at the Westover ARB in Chicopee, Mass. Excellent show, minus the scary parachute mishap with the Jet truck. The truck went off into the grass field and flipped over. The pilot walked away though. Lucky. |
