I don't think aliens are hostile because with their level of technology they could have destroyed us at will with little or no resistance by now.They haven't, humans have even shown aggression towards them and they haven't retaliated.

The flash of light could possibly be their version of some sort of transporter beam perhaps?.And the US government certainly lies to it's people about this subject, of that there is no doubt in my mind.

People have to realize that covert operations stage UFO abductions (negative ones) as part of a plan to use a hoaxed alien invasion in the future to use fear to control people. Real aliens are benevolant - with faster than light technology, they are capable of wiping out humans, but they don't. They are spiritually advanced.
